Strong, Green Door Frames

EcoFrame is a revolutionary new door frame section by Winkhaus. Using recycled plastic and aluminium, Winkhaus have developed a 99% recycled solid frame which is both highly durable and strong. Fully draught sealed, this frame also gives excellent weather proofing.

Threshold Keeps Out The Weather

As well as providing Document M Mobility Access compliance, our Exitex MDS Mobility Access Cill provides excellent protection from the elements. By having an integral draught excluder and rainwater channel built in, we ensure that even the toughest weather conditions are kept where they below; On the outside! Durable & Safe Hinges

Designed to ensure trouble free operation for many years, the Winkhaus hinge is made from durable Stainless Steel and utilises ball bearings to ensure smooth opening and closing.

Multi-Point Locking System

An important feature of any door is the lock. Here at Distinctive Doors we use the Winkhaus high security TruLock as standard, so as well as having a deadbolt alongside the handle, there are Claw Hooks top and bottom. These resist attack much more than a traditional shoot bolt. Keeps are adjustable to ensure the door fits snug to the frame seals at all times.

Door Fittings

Hard Wearing Handles

A choice of 7 colours is available in these highly attractive handles. Each handle is fixed from the inside so no screws are visible externally adding to the security. Handles are supplied loose in the box after be pre-inspected. This stops any damage in transit and they only take 2 minutes to re-install.

Weather Resistant Letter box

Matching letter boxes are available as an optional extra. Each letter plate is sleeved through the door and has draught seals both internally and externally giving the highest level of protection. As with the handles, these are fixed from the inside to prevent theft. And again, these are supplied loose to prevent damage.

The Environment

Low ‘U’ Value

Another advantage is that due to the types of materials used in the construction of the door panel these Composite Doors tend to have a low U Value giving greater insulation than a traditional timber door. All our door slabs have a centre pane U-Value of 2.2kW/m2 before cutting for glazing apertures and glass installation. Manufactured from thermoset GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester), the doors are compression moulded to give a high definition panel with an authentic timber appearance which is unaffected by variations in temperature.

The door stiles and rails are composed of water resistant polymer which are bonded to the skin and filled with an insulating core of 100% CFC-free polyurethane. This provides a thermal efficiency of up to 9 times that of a standard timber door. The door skins are pre-pigmented with colour finishes and process painted for woodgrain finishes.

Double or even Triple Glazing

Most doors have a choice of four different glass panels, each being a minimum of double glazed, with the Andaman designs being Triple Glazed. This means that the doors have excellent insulation where required.

Glazing is fitted using a glazing cassette which clips together from both sides, securely hold the glass in position. The glass is, of course, toughened safety glass to meet building regulations.

Double or even Triple Glazing

A choice of colours is available in each design* for the outside leaf, the inside face being white. The skins of the door slab are impregnated with colour providing a highly resistant and durable face which should not need re-coating for very many years. The slab itself is very stable, meaning it is highly resistant to twisting, bowing and splitting; problems which generally affect wooden doors
